Nia is Maverick’s Community Curator, a position we created to strengthen Maverick ties with the various communities it interacts with. Nia first joined Maverick in late 2006 and was an associate for two years before deciding to work as a freelance. She returns in early 2012 with enhanced experience, skills and networks. Prior to joining Maverick back in 2006, Nia worked for her alma mater STIKOM LSPR – Jakarta, where she held two positions: Academic Manager of the Master’s Degree Program and PR Coordinator under the Corporate Communications Department. Nia spent the last four years working as a freelancer on numerous communications campaigns and social media projects which allow her to maintain close relationship with the media as well as with prominent people in the industry. Among the projects she handled are Anugerah Adiwarta Sampoerna 2007-2009, Pesta Blogger 2009-2010 and the recent one, ON|OFF 2011. She is also co-founder of Coin A Chance, a digital based social initiative focuses on helping underprivileged children back to school by collecting small change. Coin A Chance has received several acknowledgements including from Nokia Indonesia as Best Online Activism 2009 and Social Icon of the Year Gatra Magazine 2010. Nia is presently completing her Master’s Degree Program in Corporate Communications at STIKOM LSPR – Jakarta on a full scholarship.
Atri began her career with dbb/Vertigo event organizer where she travelled to several cities to manage a national music competition. This led her to the digital music business as Music Content Manager at one of Indonesia’s largest content providers, Kreatif Bersama. At Maverick, Atri has worked on accounts belonging to Google, Anugerah Adiwarta, Citibank, Pacific Food and Standard Chartered Indonesia. She also supports several major community events such as ON|OFF (formerly known as Pesta Blogger) and Pecha Kucha Jakarta. These events extended her network and knowledge of the communities operating in Indonesia, leading her to her next assignment in Maverick as a Community Engagement specialist. Atri is passionate about art, movies, music, and pop culture and is an industrial-strength social media user through her tweets, blogs, and podcasts. Atri holds a Bachelor’s degree from Parahyangan Catholic University (2007), majoring in International Relations.
Edwin Marcel Lengkei
Marcel came out tops in Maverick’s The Recruit 2014, a competitive challenge to university students throughout Indonesia to display the skills and traits of a communicator. For that he got to intern at Maverick, where he impressed us so much that we offered him a job at the end of the internship. A Cum Laude in Computer Science graduate from Binus University, Marcel was the one of the chairpersons of the Asian British Parliamentary Debate Malaysia 2010. He also participated in National Model United Nations, became finalist in national business competitions and was the winner of the 2013 Asian English Olympics. He was also one of 60 students out of a field of 12,000 throughout Indonesia who was awarded the prestigious Astra 1st Scholarship. He has interned in the HR Department of Unilever Indonesia and the IT department of Astra International. In his spare time, he enjoys photography, and graphic design. In Maverick, Marcel is now a team member in PT Freeport Indonesia and several other corporate communications accounts.
